1930 Henderson KJ antique motorcycle 1929 1930 four cyclinder
Up for auction today is this 1930 Henderson KJ project bike. I have owned this bike for close to 15 years. Besides adding parts, upgrading parts and finding authentic original parts I have not done any restoration on this bike. I have always thought the KJ to be one of the most beautiful, ridable and reliable of early motorcycles. Sadly, I understand that I have too many irons in the fire. This great motorcycle needs to find a new home with someone who will get it back on the road. Quick description: magneto has been rebuilt by the previous owner, fenders are excellent reproductions, exhaust system is an excellent reproduction, the headlight and brackets are excellent reproductions, much of the hardware on the bike is NOS from the old Triangle motors who bought out the factory inventory after production of Henderson and Excelsior motorcycles was halted in 1931 by Schwinn. This bike has the optional 19" double drop center rims (18" was standard). The bike has it's full dash, which includes the proper US gauge oil pressure and ammeter, Corbin 100 MPH speedometer, reproduction light switch and speedo light. Hubs are complete with correct quill and axels. New wheel bearings are included. Excellent reproduction battery/tool box and chain guard are included but not pictured. Clean serial number on the upper case, no title for this bike. There are 8 cylinders included. Some have wrist pin damage or fin damage. Two of them have been restored. There is a full set of usable cylinders. One of the cylinders in a conversation starter, it has a Deluxe flange welded to a KJ upper. Cases are in good shape. There has been some repair work on both of them, but minor compared to most. This is an excellent motorcycle to be restored. Please look closely at the pictures and ask questions. I will respond as soon as I can. I can also take specific pictures if wanted. I can deliver within a couple hundred miles. My preference is to have the bike picked up here in the Minneapolis/St. Paul Minnesota area. If the bike needs to be shipped I will find a business that will crate it and ship it and handle any and all paperwork. Once it is dropped off it will no longer be my responsibility. Downpayment of $2,000 due at close of auction and the bike needs to be paid for, with all funds fully cleared before shipping. Full payment is expected within 3 days. Please ask me if you have any questions on my terms. I prefer to sell within the US. The buyer will be responsible for all crating and shipping charges. Sale of this bike will be final. As is, where is. Inspection will be possible, please contact me. This motorcycle is listed for sale privately as well as on eBay. Thank you for looking!
